Why I’m Better Than A Bot!

Hello Canadian Entrepreneurs!

Welcome to Better Than A Bot. I’m Shayla, an accountability coach + chaos coordinator living in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, with my husband Nathan, our 10-year-old daughter Teal, and our bearded dragon named Buddy. 

I started this business in the spring of 2022 after 15 years of comprehensive administrative experience in corporate oil and gas and event management. I was fortunate to learn many valuable skills throughout my career including resilience, confidence, patience, and the importance of adaptability.

Knowing that my gifts and skills would be of service and value to someone's business and help them thrive professionally and personally, it was time to follow my passion and support Canadian entrepreneurs with crushing their goals and following their dreams.

Better Than A Bot was born to help Canadian entrepreneurs coordinate the chaos in their lives so that they can grow their businesses, pursue their passions, and live the life they dream of.

Seeing the transformation in my clients’ lives when they see the freedom that comes from implementing organization and strategy is why I love being Better Than A Bot!  My clients deserve more than an impersonal app. They deserve a personal approach to managing their unique business and lifestyle… with a pinch of tough love!

Better Than A Bot means providing real human connection, it means you have someone in your corner who cares about your success as much as you do, problem-solving creatively, and providing a level of service and skillset that no app could ever provide.

When I am not spending quality time with my family or keeping busy being Better Than A Bot, I am working on passion projects. Projects that excite me, that fulfills my soul, and push me even closer to my goals.

When I need a break from everything going on, you can find me outdoors enjoying the sunshine (in the very short summer we have here in Calgary). I also enjoy discovering new restaurants, traveling, planning events, and obsessing over all things organization.

My family and friends say I have a type A personality…  and they are right. But I’ve learned to embrace this characteristic and use it to my advantage. So far it’s working in my favor!
